New Hartford Youth Football

New Hartford, NY - New Hartford Youth Football Co-President, Rick Marchitelli, brought 10 of his coaches to a certification class with the SUNY Youth Sports Institute on Wednesday, July 28th.  There were 8 cheer coaches from the North Utica Pop Warner program who were also in attendance.  Heather Korzenowski, a cheer coach said she enjoyed the course and found the material to be "pertinent" to her sport.  

SUNY Youth Sports Institute Instructor Dan Sullivan taught the course.  Sullivan has been an instructor in multiple trainings throughout New York State and helped coordinate the New Hartford certification course with Association Co-President, Rick Marchitelli.  Marchitelli said the course was great and that "coaches need to remember that kids aren't little adults; they are still kids and certain techniques and strategies need to be implemented with that in mind."  The SUNY Youth Sports Institute had previously certified over 30 coaches in the New Hartford Little League last spring.

Parents:

Our fundraising has begun.  The scratch off cards need to be completed in full and the $ 100.00 returned to the coach asap.  This fundraiser supports the purchasing of our equipment, town park use payments, school field use payments and many other expenses.

Team rosters need to be certified by the league, we can't keep changing players from one team to another.

Parents please read over the SUNY Sports Institute pamphlets that we have provided for you.  If you have any issues please contact your head coach first.  Remember, parents as well as coaches should set a positive example at practices and games.
